Island Tiger - Greater Gabbard

Island Shipping's new Windfarm Service Vessel, Island Tiger, has recently taken up station on the world's largest offshore windfarm construction project.  Island Tiger is carrying out crew transfer operations on SSE and RWE's Greater Gabbard Offshore Windfarm in the North Sea.

Island Shipping's new Wildcat 53, Island Tiger was launched on 8th May in Cork. Built by Safehaven Marine in Cork she is a Windfarm Catamaran designed to carry engineers and their supplies in comfort and at speed to Offshore Windfarms.  She will be completed and delivered to Island Shipping in early June 2010 and will be showcased at Seawork in Southampton from 15th to 17th June.

March 2010. Welcome to new vessel, Island Flyer. Powered by twin 420HP Caterpillars and with a large clear aft deck, the Island Flyer is a powerful, versatile vessel which has been configured for hydrographic and environmental survey, light sampling and commercial diving. She can also operate as a safety or crew transfer vessel. The Island Flyer is a safe, reliable and fuel efficient high speed vessel licensed for 12 passengers and 2 crew.

Island Partner

Island Shipping's second Road Transportable Multicat, Island Partner, was launched just before Christmas.  Island Partner is virtually identical to it's sistership Island Meercat which was launched in August 2009.  This new addition to Island Shipping's fleet greatly enhances the company's near shore capabilities as the Island Partner is a versatile, multi role vessel, capable of being swiftly and safely mobilised by road to the work site.

Road Transportable Multicat

NEW! Island Meercat

August 2009 Island Shipping has taken delivery of the  latest addition to the fleet - Island Meercat.  The vessel a 15.5 Metre Road Transportable Multicat is a powerful, versatile and maneuverable work platform, which is perfectly suited to a variety of marine construction projects to include piling, cable laying, diving, survey, supply, dredging support, buoy and harbour maintenance.  The Island Meercat splits into two hulls and is Road Transportable, so can be mobilized safely and quickly direct to the work area and can be operational within one hour of arrival.

Windfarm Support Vessels

Building on five years of practical know how operating workboats and providing consultancy services on Ireland's only Offshore Windfarm, Island Shipping awards the build of two rugged Windfarm Support Vessels  to Cork's renowned Safehaven Marine.

Construction is well under way on Island Shipping's new 15.5 metre Road Transportable Multicat.  A powerful, maneuverable and versatile work platform for a variety of marine construction purposes, the Island Meercat will be available for charter in August 2009.

Island Shipping to work on Limerick Tunnel Project

July 2008

Island Shipping is delighted to announce the deployment of Tug Husky to the 500 million euro Limerick Tunnel Project on the Shannon River in August 2008.  Husky will be providing barge handling and dredging support services for Van Oord Ireland Ltd.
